Roberto O. Paz brings a wealth of experiences from his past background to the forefront from the
businesses he has been associated with.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas from a family of eight, Roberto graduated from Harlandale
High in 1990 and was accepted to the San Antonio Partnership Program created by the Mayor Henry Cisneros. The program allowed
Roberto to be employed at Pace Foods in San Antonio, where he took a rapid advancement of positions within the company ending
with an Operations Technician position which detailed efficiency operations of the manufacturing processes. In 1995,
during his employment, the company was sold to Campbell Soup Company for 1.1 billion dollars based on a multiple of 4 times
revenue and 24 times cash flow -- the highest multiples ever paid for a food company.
Roberto then left Pace Foods to join Coca-Cola San Antonio, as an Operations Technician, again
detailing operational efficiency on the manufacturing lines of Coca-Cola products. Roberto was also utilized for capital project
implementations, and assisted the Director of Operations in analysis of key business indicators of the operations. Roberto
was selected to the position of Warehouse/Facility Coordinator where his skills were needed to streamline inventory processes
of the satellite warehouse operation for all products not produced at the San Antonio production facility (Evian, Fruitopia,
PowerAde, Minute-Maid). In 1998, Coca-Cola of the Southwest was sold to Coca-Cola Enterprises for 1.5 billion
dollars. Once more, a sale of his employer in excess of 1 billion dollars.
In 2000, Roberto accepted a position as Warehouse Manager for Hicks Carpet One in San Antonio
where he was charged with the warehouse operations management, as Hicks was leading the San Antonio flooring market and was
contracted for the installation of flooring for KB Homes. The contract ended in 2002 and the company then downsized.
Roberto then joined Restorative Health Care where he entered into the home health care arena,
initially functioning in the corporate accounting department as assistant to the controller, Roberto quickly understood how
relative his experiences from the manufacturing background were in a business entirely different from what he was accustomed.
Roberto was involved in multiple aspects of the growth of the business at Restorative Health Care. Working above and
beyond the call-of-duty to build the second largest Medicare provider Home Health Agency in San Antonio. Roberto moved
from the corporate offices to the agency office to become the Business Manager for the Adult, Pediatric, and Private Pay patient
departments. Roberto utilized his know-how in creating reports along with scorecards to improve operational efficiencies and
developed new standard operating procedures for the agency.
